Sam Marmer (Distribution / Press)
I came to CaneLand (SugarCaneJuice.org)
after spending five years studying nutrition and the economics of foods
on different socio-systems. Also, as a yoga enthusiast, I found
reverence for sugar cane’s healing power in age-old medical traditions,
including Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Hundreds of our
customers have expressed a deep historic and cultural relationship to
this rich food.
Ultimately, we recognize the impact of food on the micro level, in the body and the macro level, in the social body. I am grateful to be part of this movement in practical sustainability and sweet health.

experiments in herbal and holistic medicines in 1997 in Atlanta,GA.
following a severe case of retinitis that almost cost him his
vision. Through the remedial efforts of herbal nutrition, oculomotor
exercises and healthy eating his vision improved back to 100%. Since then he has immersed himself in the study of spirit, soul,
mind, emotions and body arriving at a unbiased holistic vantage point
that is shared by a few of the cutting edge pioneers in the field of today's alternative health community.
Currently building a virtual
'silk road' to provide curative superfoods and herbs from select locations around the
world to locations all over the world, you can visit the beginning stages of Daniel's endeavor at

One day he hopes to help initiate a "save the sugarcane" movement in
Barbados (
www.totallybarbados.com/barbados/.../Sugar_Cane_Industry/) and in the meantime, amplify awareness worldwide concerning the benefits of sugarcane as superfood.
Pierre Percival Pandy (Chief of Flavors)
I have been a part of sugarcane for as long as I can remember.
My father,
a Belizean native, brought me cane as a child.
He would give me the grassy sticks without cutting them as
a challenge.
It would sometimes
take me all day to get to the sweetness.
Working with SugarCaneJuice.org is like living a childhood
dream where the rare treasure is available by the pint or quart.
As my first name prescribes, I am Le Cordon Bleu trained chef form the California
School of Culinary Arts.
I love
developing new ways to use the cane juice. "Cane Marinated Peach and Avocado Salad" is one of my more
interesting recipes.
I also hold
an Associate in English, my first book of poetry, “For Lack of Better Words” can
be found at
http://www.lulu.com/content/2054173
.
During the Farmer's Market I can be found under a straw hat. At other times, I switch hats according to mood. Regardless of the headpiece, I am open to answer questions, hear stories, and meet new people. See you at the Market.
Elisabeth Gonzales I
moved to California from Connecticut seven years ago. It was at this
time I began researching how to holistically approach chronic illnesses
by focusing on food and diet.
Working
with "Raw Cane Juice" and learning about all the medical benefits
that occur in the sugarcane plant naturally has greatly added to my
studies. Experimenting with the cane in my own diet as a replacement of
sugar and as a supplement of vitamins and minerals and in the diets of
friends and customers battling with specific health needs ranging from
arthritis, skin issues, ulcers, severe digestive problems, and
menopause has been an amazing, rewarding experience.
Sugar
cane juice is not a native health drink to the United States. It is
however, very common in many other countries (Puerto Rico, Brazil,
China, India, Vietnam, Cuba, etc.). Being a part of a company who's
mission is to make this essential beverage a household name here in
America has been a great privilege. Que Viva la revolucíon!
